Nathan Scholl, Pastor


Nathan holds over twenty years of experience working with various religious and non-profit institutions. He completed a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business/Managerial Economics from Wheaton College. He has served as a Youth Minister, Assistant Minister and was Founder and leader of Christ Central Church, a multi-ethnic and multi-generational congregation in Charlottesville, VA. Most recently, as a Strategist and Consultant, he facilitated workshops, conducted research, and developed solutions for complex challenges in the areas of education, health, and community development to help organizations achieve their goals and create positive social impact. Nathan is joyfully married to his best friend, Christi, and they have three active teens, Hunter, Andrew and Linden. He is passionate about using ones gifts and talents to serve others and make a difference in the world.
Josh Gentry, Associate Pastor
Josh oversees the day-to-day church operations, developing young adult and children’s ministries, and investing in the discipleship of men. He has over 30 years of managerial experience in the corporate world, along with certification as a coach and speaker with the John Maxwell Team. Josh holds a Business Management degree from Averett University and has faithfully served in church leadership and evangelism for more than 25 years. He is married to his wife, Gigi, and they are blessed with Tyler and his wife Baylee and Caleb and his wife Lacey and a growing number of grandchildren. Josh is passionate about spending time with family, staying active, and helping others grow in their faith and leadership.

Mark Nelson, Elder
Mark is a divinity school graduate, an alumnus of the University of Virginia School of Law and returned to Charlottesville in 1994 to practice law. Prior to law school, Mark worked in the business world as an accountant and spent one year living and working in Jerusalem. Mark and his wife Cindy (who you will also find working at his law firm), have raised four children in Charlottesville and enjoy spending time with four generations of family living in the local area. Mark has also served the local community through the Chamber of Commerce, the United Way and the Albemarle County Rotary Club.

Steve Hood, Elder
Steve is a Virginia native, a George Mason University graduate and traveled the world serving as a U.S. Army officer for over 26 years. He commanded the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville for two years and during that time, he and his family found a permanent home in Charlottesville. His wife Katy and three boys remained in Charlottesville while he deployed to Iraq before returning home to retire from the Army and plant his roots at Rivanna and our local community. Steve is a lover of all things healthy, avid exerciser and master of smoked meats.
